In Bihar‘s Muzaffarpur, a boy into his late teens succumbed to injuries days after he was allegedly beaten badly while protecting his mother from a rape attempt. The boy lost his life at PMCH.

The mother and her boy belong to Dharampur village. On November 15, both of them had gone to a fodder shop. There, the (Rajendra Sah)shop owner’s son, Pappu, attempted to rape the boy’s mother.

“Pappu and a few of his friends beat him up badly in which the boy sustained multiple injuries”, said Dharmaveer Bharti, SHO of Sahebganj, as quoted by TOI.

It was only on Monday when the news of the boy’s death spread outside the village. For eight hours, the deceased’s body was kept at the highway-74 by the villagers, blocking the state highway. After the SHO promised a probe, the angry villagers lifted the block.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged on the complaint registered by the teen’s father.
