Bihar Cabinet Expansion: Nitish Kumar inducts 17 new ministers, check full list

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday inducted 17 new ministers into his Cabinet. The 17 ministers include 9 from the BJP and 8 from the Janata Dal (United). Governor Phagu Chauhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at Raj Bhavan here.

BJP national spokesperson and former Union minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, who got elected to the Bihar legislative council last month, was on Tuesday sworn in as a member of the Nitish Kumar cabinet.

He was the first to be administered the oath of office by Governor Phagu Chauhan at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan for the much-awaited cabinet expansion.

The much-awaited expansion of Nitish Kumar’s cabinet comes 80 days after he was sworn-in as Chief Minister for the fifth time.

The new ministers are:

4. Pramod Kumar (BJP MLA, Motihari)
5. Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU)

7. Samrat Chaudhary (BJP MLC)
8. Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu (BJP MLA, Chhatapur)
9. Subash Singh (BJP MLA, Gopalganj)
10. Nitin Nabin (BJP MLA, Bankipur)
11. Sumit Kumar Singh (Independent MLA, Chakai)
12. Sunil Kumar (JDU MLA, Bhore)
13. Narayan Prasad (BJP MLA, Nautan)
14. Jayant Raj (JDU MLA, Amarpur)
