Bihar Floor Test LIVE: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar won a 130-0 floor test in the Assembly, despite the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) stepping out of the House. The trust vote occurred two weeks after Nitish shifted allegiance from the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) to the NDA bloc. Three RJD MLAs switched to the NDA bloc. Kumar accused the RJD of taking credit for his initiatives and claiming the Lalu Prasad-Rabri Devi governments failed to contribute to Bihar development.

The Congress jettried its MLAs to Hyderabad last week in anticipation of the Monday test due to ‘poaching’ concerns, whereas the RJD’s MLAs opted to remain in Tejashwi Yadav’s home and BJP leader Nityanand Rai asserted that all 78 MLAs of the saffron party were at a Patna hotel. Forty MLAs of the JD(U) of Nitish Kumar were also arranged to stay at a different hotel in the capital of the state.

What is the order of the numbers?

At present, the NDA administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, appears assured of securing the trust vote. The decisive figure for a majority in the 243-member Bihar Assembly is 122. The NDA government asserts its majority with the support of 128 members of the BJP-JD(U) alliance, whereas the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ has experienced a decline in strength to 114.
