The beheaded body that was recovered under a bridge over Paimar River in Nalanda district of Bihar on Tuesday has been identified as that of a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader. Party district general secretary Kailash Paswan was allegedly beheaded by unidentified assailants after being abducted and killed.
Paswan went missing on July 6. As per the statements made by Paswan’s relatives, he was called by Chhotu Gupta of Buchchi village for a panchayat meeting, following which he did not return to his house. They said they made all attempts to locate the leader but could not find him.
Paswan’s relative reportedly got to know about a beheaded body in Nalanda, following which they rushed to civil hospital late Monday night. The identity of the RJD leader was ascertained with the help of his body structure and clothes.
The police is investigating the whole case. The reasons for the murder have not been ascertained yet. Police official have said that criminals had abducted the RJD leader Paswan, murdered him and later left the torso headless so that the identity of the body could be kept disguised.
