The Muzaffarpur Sub Divisional Magistrate (West) has ordered to lodge an FIR in Kanti police station of Muzaffarpur district against actor Anupam Kher and 13 others (which includes director and producer) of the upcoming movie ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. The movie is set to release on 11th of this month.

Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the petition on 2nd January 2018 before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court and had alleged that several public figures have been lampooned in the movie. He lodged his complaints under IPC sections 295, 153, 153A, 293, 504, 506 and 120B which relate to provoke breach of peace, promote enmity between different groups, the sale of obscene objects, insult and criminal conspiracy.

While talking to Newsd, Mr. Ojha has alleged that he felt hurt upon viewing the trailer of the movie. He said, “The country has been pictured in bad light. Every government has weakness and strength but this movie is made just to demean stature of former PM Mr. Manmohan Singh. Delicate issues of security shown in wrong way which could be harmful for our relations with other countries. Not a single achievement has been discussed. Reality is being distorted.”

Additionally he asked- How can a movie be made on a book which was allegedly called as a fiction writing? Based on a book one has no right to keep nation’s image on stake and by the way, this movie has to do only with profit earning.

He also said that the movie has shown political leaders such as RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, BSP chief Mayawati, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani, in poor light. I have also appealed to ban the release of the movie and with stringent action on its actors, director and producer.

The case was admitted earlier and on 8th January, tentatively the hearing was expected in Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court. Sudhir Kumar Ojha is a known face in legal circle of Muzaffarpur and is renowned for vocal intervention in judicial processes when it comes to corruption and to counter anti-social issues. Till date he has filed 685 cases.
