The application process has been reopened for the Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (STET) 2019 by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on the official website, biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in. Candidates can only apply until December 24. Applicants who want to make corrections in their form will be allowed to edit it on December 25 and December 26.
The recruitment process has been held for 25,270 teacher posts for secondary classes (9th and 10th) and 12,065 teacher posts for higher secondary classes (11th and 12th).
Candidates will be provided the age- relaxation of 10 years and for students of computer science, the age relaxation will be for eight years. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the website at www.bsebstet2019.in
About BSEB STET 2019:
Bihar STET 2019 exam will be going to be conducted for two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) for the selection of Secondary School Teachers and Higher Secondary School Teachers respectively.
- For Paper I: Graduation degree in a relevant subject with BEd from a recognized institute.
- For paper II: Post-graduation degree in a relevant subject along with BEd.
Minimum qualifying marks:
- For general category candidates: 50 per cent
- For reserved category candidates: 45 per cent
Why exam date postpones?
The exam date of Bihar STET 2019 has been postponed by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) due to Patna High Court’s order to increase the upper age limit for the applicants for STET on October 15.
According to the press release, the Bihar education department will decide the revised upper age limit after discussion with the legal department. Then the final date of the exam will be declared.
Note: The Bihar STET 2019 scores will be valid for seven years in which time a candidate can apply for teacher recruitment with the Bihar government on the basis of their STET score.
The Bihar School Examination Board was formed for conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage, to define the courses for which the exams will be taken, and for other purposes and duties necessary to carry out the purposes specified in the Act, Rules and Regulations of the Board.
