BJP deposited Rs 1 cr in bank account hours before demonetisation: CPI(M)

CPI(M) West Bengal unit on Friday alleged that a huge amount of cash has been deposited in the bank account of the BJP state unit.

The deposits were made hours before the demonetisation announcement and using only the bank notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, The Hindu Business Line reported.

An article published in the CPI (M) mouth piece ‘Ganashakti’ claimed that around Rs 1 crore worth of cash was deposited in the Chittaranjan Avenue branch of Indian bank in Calcutta.

Money was reportedly deposited to savings account number 554510034, which is in the name of BJP West Bengal unit.

The article claimed that the deposits were made twice as 60 lakh and 40 lakh respectively.

In addition, Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 70 lakhs were also deposited in another account belongs BJP unit in the first week of November to account number 6365251388 at the same branch, reports Narada News.

Although, West Bengal BJP President denied the allegations, saying there were no irregularities.

This is money that is accounted for and if required we can give details of these transactions to any investigating authority,” he told BusinessLine.
