On the eve of Raksha Bandhan, few Muslim women and BJP leader Bukkal Nawab, who is also the chairman of National Shia society, tied rakhi to cows near Lord Shiva temple at Kudiya Ghat, Lucknow. Performing Gau-puja, the BJP MLC pledged ‘cow protection’ as his primary duty.
Bukkal Nawab said that his forefathers too were fond of cows. “It was my father who built this Shiv temple,” says BJP MLC.
In last few months, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government has taken several initiatives to safeguard cows and also to raise awareness about their many benefits.
Hailing CM Yogi, Nawab said that public’s faith has raised on UP government due to their progressive ideology. Further, he added that not a single incident of mismanagement was report on Eid this time which reflects better law and order situation in the state.
