Even though BJP MP Varun Gandhi dismissed allegations of being ‘honey trapped’ by US-based whistleblower Edmonds Allen, according to sources BJP is contemplating issuing a show cause notice to Varun Gandhi.
The notice will demand explanations from Gandhi about the media reports on his honey trap and engagement the with arms dealer and it is reported that General Secretary Ram Madhav has prepared a draft of show cause notice, which is expected to be approved by BJP chief Amit Shah BJP Chief. Party sources also say that Varun has been “keen on” visiting Robert Vadra and indulging in family affairs of Priyanka Gandhi and has also discussed the “party’s internal matters.” This move will send a clear signal that Varun Gandhi is not the face of Chief Minister of UP and some even called it a “necessary step.”
The BJP MP had released a letter dismissing the ‘honey trap’ allegations levelled against him by US-based whistleblower Edmonds Allen and in a letter to the ‘people of India’, Varun refuted all the allegations , saying he was not even privy to the information he is accused of leaking.
Allen had alleged in a letter to the Prime Minister that Varun had been blackmailed into revealing information from the Defence Consultative Committee, allegedly using pictures of him with ‘foreign escorts’.
