State employees may now participate in competitive examinations administered by the Bihar Public Service Commission, the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, and the Technical Service Commission up to a maximum of five times during their whole service career.
Tuesday’s state cabinet meeting, presided over by the state’s chief executive, Nitish Kumar, authorised the new development. Previously, the maximum number of attempts to take a competitive test was three, however that number has since been increased. Similarly, Bihar government employees will continue to receive a five-year age waiver for participation in competitive examinations, as was the case previously.
