Veteran writer-director Sagar Sarhadi, who has been scriptwriter for iconic films like ‘Noorie’, ‘Bazaar’, ‘Kabhi Kabhie’, ‘Silsila’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Deewana’ and ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ passed away on Monday morning in Mumbai, he was 88.


India reported 47,009 fresh Covid-19 cases today pushing the overall tally to 11,645,719, according to Worldometer. With this, India has registered its highest daily spike of 2021. The death toll from the infection jumped to 160,003.

The five most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (2,479,682), Kerala (1,102,353), Karnataka (968,487), Andhra Pradesh (893,366), and Tamil Nadu (865,693).


Doctors at a private hospital removed a 16-kg tumour from the abdomen of a woman after a 6-hour-long surgery in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Hospital Manager Devendra Chandolia said, “Chances of her survival would have diminished if it was not removed in time. She is out of danger.”

She is contesting from New Generation People’s Party. Bharathi speaking to ANI said, “I am proud to be contesting in the election as a transgender for the first time in India.”
