C-Voter survey: Congress likely to get clear majority in Telangana with 64 seats

Ahead of Telangana polls, Congress in the state would perform better than 2014 assembly elections, revealed during a survey conducted by the Center For Voting Opinions and Trends in Election Research (C-Voter), in its November (week 2) poll, which has projected a clear majority of 64 seats to the Congress-TDP combine in Telangana.

Incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) will obtain 42 seats and BJP to manage around 4 seats, the survey revealed.

Congress currently has 13 sitting legislators and TDP has 4 MLAs in Telangana assembly. As per the seat sharing agreement of grand alliance of Telangana for 2018 polls, Congress will contest on 93 seats, TDP 14, TJS 8 and CPI 3, for the 119-member Telangana assembly.

As per the political experts, K Chandrashekhar Rao who is popularly known as KCR decided to dissolve state assembly before its term, following that some experts’ claimed it is a wrong gamble.

The undivided Andhra Pradesh was a stronghold of the Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership has created a massive influence in Telangana, sources added.
