CAA Protests: Akhil Gogoi's mother ends her 3 day long fast

Priyada Gogoi, Akhil Gogoi’s mother, who is 81 years old took a few drops of milk and ended her endemic fast on Sunday. She said,

“I will go back to fast again once my health condition improves.”

She regained composure and felt good while after having some form of food.

People started seriously requesting her to break her fast as they could see, her health started deteriorating seriously.

Gogoi started protesting against the move by NIA of arresting Akhil Gogoi amidst intense CAA protests occurring in Assam. She reiterates he has no links with any Maoist group.

Locals said, “her health started deteriorating faster, hence she had to break the fast.”

Akhil Gogoi was taken into 10-day custody by the NIA for allegedly merging his organization with Revolutionary Communist Centre (RCC).

He had alleged that he was subjected to extreme torture by the NIA.

He said he was tortured heavily.

He also stated, “It’s a conspiracy to divert the movement but people of Assam must fight for justice,” he stated. On December 17, a special NIA court in Guwahati sent Gogoi to a 10-day NIA custody.
