Catch Asian Games 2023: 655 Indian athletes participated in 40 various events at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The Indian men’s and women’s volleyball teams will also participate in the mega-sporting event. From September 19 through September 26, the tournament will be contested at four different locations. The Indian men’s volleyball team will face Cambodia on the opening day of competition in Pool C of the preliminary round.
Volleyball for men was first introduced at the 1958 Tokyo Asian Games. India was able to finish in third place at that competition. So far, they have won a total of three medals. Their greatest performance occurred in 1962 when they placed second. Bronze medals were also awarded in 1958 and 1986.
This year, there are a total of 19 teams competing in Men’s Volleyball. Japan, China, and South Korea are regarded as the competition’s three main powerhouses. In men’s volleyball at the Asian Games, Japan has achieved 27 podium finishes, including 16 golds. China comes in second with 11 gold medals, while Korea comes in third with five.
