The sports teacher has been associated with the school in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area since 2016 and is now being questioned, an official said.
The incident came to light after the child’s parents approached the police to lodge a complaint against their neighbour on Sunday, an official said.
When the patrolling staff rushed to the spot, they found some men were having a row with an auto driver, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Harsha Vardhan said.

Last month, the accused first sexually assaulted the victim when she went to him for alteration of her clothes. He even threatened to kill her if she revealed it to anyone, he said.

The accused, identified as Sukhvinder Singh (22), has been arrested, the police said and added that the victim’s condition was stable.
The accused, Suman Kumari, was the prime suspect in the murder of Vidhi Chand (82). She was produced before a court on Friday and sent to three-day police remand, they said.
The police said that an accused, identified as Anil Jadhav had forcibly kidnapped the girl and established physical relations with her in a lodge.
The incident took place on Wednesday in Mumbra area and efforts were on to nab the two absconding accused, they said.
Hours after the incident, her friend Gopu (20) with whom the deceased girl was said to be in love for some time, was taken into custody.
According to the police, the victim was alone in the house when the accused arrived there. He covered her mouth with a pillow to muffle her screams and stabbed her 51 times with a screwdriver.
The accused — Binay Lama, a resident of Tinsukia district of Assam — was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, they said.
The police have arrested three of the accused and detained the minors involved in the assault that took place in a chawl on Friday night, an official said.
During the investigation, several suspects were questioned and after getting inputs about the whereabouts of the victim, a police team was sent to Haryana from where the girl was rescued, she said.
The incident happened in Dhoushar Dehribar village under Gola police station area here on Wednesday, they said.
During their investigation, police suspected the roles of Shaurya’s uncle Vineet, his cousin Akshit, and a third named Danny.
Two others who tried to save the man were also injured in the fight.
While the deceased was going out for work on Monday, his son and daughter-in-law thrashed him with sticks and seriously injured him, the officer said.
Police have detained the victim’s husband as a suspect in the crime. The accused has been identified as Dildar Ansari.
The girl had gone missing on December 7, after which a kidnapping case was registered at Vidhan Sabha police station, he said.
During the investigation, it was found that Saha was an addict and used to visit the forest regularly to fulfil his need for substance abuse, police said.
Three people — prime accused Sachin Arora and his two friends Harshit Aggarwal (19) and Virender Singh (22) — have been arrested, police said.
A complaint was lodged in the matter by Deepak Sinha on behalf of the Indian Society for Rehabilitation at Rabindra Sarobar police station in Kolkata on November 29, the police said.
