CBSE 12th Result Revaluation 2026:The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that the revaluation and answer sheet verification process for Class 12 Board Exam Results 2026 will start from May 19. There are ongoing worries raised by students and parents about the On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system.
After many complaints about unexpectedly low marks in key subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, CBSE has now acknowledged the chance of evaluation issues and also opened a more organized post-result complaint procedure for affected students.
CBSE 12th Result Revaluation 2026
As per the most recent CBSE notice, students who are not satisfied with their marks can request the following stages:
- Photocopy of evaluated answer books: May 19 to May 22, 2026
- Check of marks: After getting scanned copies
- Re-assessment of specific answers: Final stage, after verification
In short, the board has rolled out a two-step route, students first need to obtain scanned copies of the answer sheet, only then they can request formal re-evaluation.
CBSE Admits Concerns Over OSM Evaluation System
This entire controversy kicked off when multiple students said they were given unusually low scores even though they claimed they performed well in competitive examinations like JEE Main. Parents and teachers further mentioned that certain things such as diagrams, step-wise marking, or answers written close to the margins may have not been captured properly during digital scanning under the OSM setup.
As per available reports, CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said that errors are possible, largely because of the huge volume of checking, where nearly 1.25 crore answer sheets are evaluated each year.
CBSE defended the OSM method, saying that digital checking helps boost transparency and uniformity in marking.
