The upcoming horror-comedy film, which is a part of the expanding Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, was earlier scheduled to release on December 24, 2026, the same festive weekend locked by King. However, fresh industry reports now indicate that the makers are considering shifting Shakti Shalini to January 2027.

According to recent reports, the production team is currently focused on wrapping up principal photography and post-production, especially the film’s extensive VFX work. Sources quoted by entertainment portals claim the makers want adequate time to polish the supernatural drama before finalising the release strategy.

The decision reportedly comes amid the massive buzz surrounding King, which is being directed by Siddharth Anand and stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone. The film is expected to be one of the biggest Bollywood releases of 2026 and is already generating strong anticipation across trade circles.
Trade analysts believe that avoiding a direct clash with a Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster could benefit Shakti Shalini, especially since the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe has been carefully building its theatrical momentum after hits like Stree, Munjya and Bhediya.
While there is no official confirmation yet from the filmmakers regarding the postponement, multiple entertainment reports suggest that an early January 2027 release is currently under consideration.

The actress was introduced as “the creator, the destroyer, and the mother of all” in a teaser attached to Thamma, further increasing fan curiosity around her role in the cinematic universe.
Reports also suggest that Vishal Jethwa and Viineet Kumar Singh are part of the project, with Viineet reportedly playing the antagonist.
