The Centre has sent a five-member team to review the outbreak of dengue cases in Tamil Nadu. The team will audit and conduct a meeting on Friday with state health minister, C. Vijayabhaskar, and other officials of the health department.

On Thursday, deputy chief minister, O. Panneerselvam, along with other All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leaders like Munusamy, Manoj Pandian and Maitreyan, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where they held a discussion about the recent outbreak of dengue in the state.

“The Prime Minister has assured to depute a medical team to look after the dengue fever outbreak in the state,” Panneerselvam had said. He added that the state government has assigned enough doctors and medical staff to contain the outbreak.
