A bridge, which was pending to construct in Naxal-affected Kaneri village, 90 km from Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh since 9 years, was finally built by the Jawans this month in just 30 days.

Significantly, the bridge was pending to be built in Chhattisgarh from the fear of the Maoists. Naxalites had killed Sarpanch Halaur Singh just after the mere talks about making the bridge, 12 years ago.

After that, in 2008, the government created a temporary bridge, but that was also destroyed.

Subsequently, the government tried to put up the bridge for nine years, but due to the fear of the Maoists, it never got done.

Finally, the concerned authorities sought help of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police). Soon, the work started in April this year. And in next, 30 days the bridge was ready.

Now, the newly built bridge is providing relief to ten thousand people of 60 villages. The villagers don’t need to travel 20 km to Maharashtra for any work now.
