Chhattisgarh: Private hospitals decline PM Modi’s Ayushman scheme

Refusing the PM Modi’s dream plan, ‘Ayushman Bharat Scheme’, around 500 private hospitals in Chhattisgarh unanimously decided to not to treat patients under the scheme. Earlier, all the 500 hospitals were empanelled under various schemes of the National Health Insurance Scheme and state medical schemes.

Indian Medical Association, state unit during a meeting on Wednesday in Raipur declared that there are many difficulties and issues in executing the scheme, as poor tariff fixed for procedures, IMA Chhattisgarh alleged. Also earlier, private hospitals and nursing homes decided to work under the new scheme, after getting all the due payments.

During the day of the inauguration of the scheme on September 24, PM Modi stated it as ‘game changer initiative for poor’s’. The scheme is currently viable in 445 districts of the nation and around 50 crore people are expected to get benefit from this scheme.
