Chhattisgarh SIR 2026 Voter List: The Election Commission of India has shared the draft voter list for Chhattisgarh as part of its Special Intensive Revision process. This step is part of a bigger effort to clean and correct voter records. The commission starts this process when it feels the normal yearly update is not enough to fix mistakes in the voter list.

The goal of this special drive is to make sure the voter roll is clean and correct. It helps remove wrong names and also makes sure no real voter is left out. The Election Commission has the legal power to do this work under Article 324 of the Indian Constitution.

What is Special Intensive Revision?

Special Intensive Revision, also called SIR, is a deep checking process of voter details. During this time, officials visit homes, share pre-filled forms, accept online details, and check old voter records again. This process is much bigger than the usual summary revision done every year.

The Election Commission starts SIR when it feels the voter list has many problems that need careful fixing.

What to Do if Your Name is Missing?

If your name is not found in the draft voter list and you did not get any notice for a hearing, you still have an option. The Election Commission says such voters must apply again for inclusion. This can be done by filling and submitting Form 6, also known as Annexure-IV.

Election officials have asked all voters to check their details within the given time. This step is important so that eligible voters are not removed by mistake and ineligible names do not stay on the list.
