Citizenship Amendment Bill: NFR cancels, short-terminates 30 trains

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled and short-terminated 30 trains to and from the region, keeping in view of massive protests and railway blockade being carried out in Northeast against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), 2019.

NFR said in a statement, “cancelled/short terminated/originate” in view of “disruptions in train movement due to picketing in many places”.

The cancelled trains are 15604 Ledo – Guwahati Intercity Express (Dec 11); 15606 Dibrugarh – Furketing – Guwahati Intercity Express (Dec 11); 15908 Naharlagun – Tinsukia Intercity Express (Dec 11); 05820 Dekargaon – Dibrugarh Intercity Express (Dec 13); 12087 Naharlagun – Guwahati Shatabdi Express (Dec 12); 12085 Guwahati – Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express (Dec 12); 15959 Howrah – Dibrugarh Kamrup Express (Dec 12); 12525 Kolkata – Dibrugarh Express (Dec 11).

The other trains that have been cancelled are 15942 Dibrugarh – Jhajha Express (Dec 12); 15941 Jhajha – Dibrugarh Express (Dec 13); 15968 Dibrugarh – Rangiya Express (Dec 12); 15967 Rangiya – Dibrugarh Express (Dec 12); 15910 Lalgarh – Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express (Dec 13) and 55913 Jorhat – Tinsukia passenger (Dec 12).

The three other trains which have also been cancelled are 55914 Tinsukia – Jorhat passenger (Dec 12); 55677 Silchar – Dharmanagar passenger (Dec 11) and 55678 Dharmanagar – Silchar passenger (Dec 11).

Meanwhile, 15959 Howrah – Dibrugarh Kamrup express, which started on December 10, will be short-terminated at Mariani and will remain cancelled between Mariani and Dibrugarh.

The 15960 Dibrugarh – Howrah Kamrup express will originate from Guwahati on December 12 & 13; and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

The 15955 Dibrugarh – Delhi Brahmaputra mail of December 11 will originate from Guwahati on December 12 and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

The 12424 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express of December 10 will be short-terminated at Guwahati and will remain cancelled between Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

The 12423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express of December 11 will originate from Guwahati on December 12 as per time table and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

The 20504 New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express of December 10 will be short-terminated at Guwahati and will remain cancelled between Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

The 20503 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express of December 12 will originate from Guwahati on December 13 as per time table and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

The 15910 Lalgarh – Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express of December 9 will be short-terminated at Dimapur and will remain cancelled between Dimapur and Dibrugarh.

The 15909 Dibrugarh – Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express of December 12 will originate from Guwahati on December 12 as per time table and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.

The 13173 Sealdah – Agartala Kanchanjungha Express of December 10 will be short-terminated at Dharmanagar and will remain cancelled between Dharmanagar and Agartala.

The 13174 Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express of December 12 will start from Dharmanagar and will remain cancelled between Agartala and Dharmanagar.

The 14020 Delhi – Agartala Tripurasundari Express of December 9 will be short-terminated at Badarpur and will remain cancelled between Dharmanagar and Agartala.

The 14019 Agartala – Delhi Tripurasundari Express of December 12 will start from Badarpur and will remain cancelled between Badarpur and Agartala, the notification said, issued by Subhanan Chanda, CPRO, NFR.
