Assam student union along with the local organizations will be protesting in the ‘Bajra Ninad’ protest rally against the citizenship amendment bill that got passed by Lok Sabha.

The angry citizens are using slogans like “Go back”, “No justice No rest”, we want justice in the protest against the bill.

Cotton university students have said, “We will never allow the bill to come to power. We will continue all sorts of protests until the bill is scrapped.”

Citizens from Nalbari, Jorhat is also joining the rally to protest against the bill.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill, passed by the Lok Sabha on January 8, provides Indian citizenship to Hindus, Jains, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan after six years of residence in India even if they do not possess any document.

Renowned singer Zubeen Garg is also expected to take part in this rally.
