Col Narendra Bull Kumar was the first of the deputy leader of India’s successful Everest Expedition and scaled the highest peak in the world in 1965, followed by many other mountaineering expeditions such as Teram Kangri, Siachen Glacier and Saltoro Range.
He is one of the main people who undertook the expedition to Siachen Glacier and if he wouldn’t have teh whole of Siachen Glacier would have been a part of Pakistan.
To give India Siachen glacier, col Bull Kumar had crossed seven mountain ranges- Pnjal Range, Himalayas, Zanskar, Ladakh, Saltoro, Karakoram and Agil to make sure the 10,000 km square area remains with India than with Pakistan.
The loss of Colonel Narendra Bull Kumar is heart wrenching and we would like to offer our condolences to the family of such a great Indian mountaineer soldier.
Talking more about the Indian mountaineering soldier- Colonel Narendra Kumar earned his BULL title for relentlessly chugging into whatever he does and hence he earned the title bull. Col Narendra Kumar family includes wife Mridula, daughter Shailaja Kumar, India’s first winter Olympian and Son Akshay Kumar, sadly teh son passed away earlier this year on September 16, 2020, in Delhi due to cardiac arrest.
