Coronavirus positive cases continue to rise in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Agra, one of the worst affected districts, has reported at least 17 new cases. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 2252.
The state has so far reported 43 deaths due to the virus and 551 have been discharged from hospitals.
Two youth and a woman were tested positive for the deadly disease in Banda district of the state. The medical team had sent samples of 75 people, out of which 3 have been tested positive. The total number of positive cases in the district now stands at seven.
Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man who returned from Nashik three days ago has been tested positive for novel coronavirus in Prayagraj, taking the district’s tally to five cases till now.
Of these, one patient has recovered, while the rest of them are undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Level One Hospital in Kotwa.
Two others were tested positive for coronavirus in Pratapgarh district on Thursday. They had returned from Kurla in Maharashtra last week. Five members of the family have now been quarantined.
