The Karnataka government has decided to give partial relaxation across the state in the extended lockdown. In order to revive economic activity, the government has allowed the operation of IT and IT-enabled services with essential minimum staff.
Activities like manufacturing of packaging materials, construction work, and courier services have been permitted to a certain extent. However, there is no relaxation yet in coronavirus hotspots and containment areas.
“As notified, the 19-day extended lockdown has been partially relaxed to mitigate hardship to the people and revive the economic activity to sustain growth,” an official was quoted as saying.
Soon after the lockdown norms were partially relaxed, reports of some large-scale traffic movement in certain parts of the southern state started pouring in.
Admitting that the partial relaxation led to a traffic jam like situation in some parts of the cities, an official said their movement was being regulated to prevent congestion on roads.
With these partial relaxations, certain services are now available for the common man but there are still some that remains suspended. Let’s have a look at them:

- Electrician services
- Plumbers
- Motor Mechanics
- Tea, coffee, rubber plantations
- Carpenters
- Processing, packaging, sales and marketing of the same
- Construction of roads
- Irrigation projects
- Industrial projects
- Construction of buildings
Services which are still not available:
- Hospitality services
- Malls
- Bars
- Theatres
- Religious places
- Shopping Complexes
