Coronavirus Outbreak: Mumbai launches ‘Air-Venti’ app to provide information on ICU beds, ventilators

An ‘Air-Venti’ application has been launched in Mumbai, on Wednesday that would help people during emergencies. The app can be downloaded through Google Play Store.

According to Mayor Kishori Pednekar, citizens of Mumbai can now get information about the availability of intensive care unit (ICU) beds and ventilators in hospitals of the city through a new mobile app.

Talking to the reporters, she said, “The app would help citizens in finding about the availability of ICU beds and ventilators in Mumbai hospitals”.

The app is connected to the dashboard of the city’s disaster control room and its link can also be accessed through the Mumbai civic body’s app, she further added.

The Air-Venti app was developed by Octaware Technologies in partnership with Probity Soft for Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra is among the worst-hit states by the COVID-19 infection. The state saw a huge jump in COVID-19 tally on Wednesday. Over 3,300 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The state’s COVID-19 count reached 116,752. On Wednesday, at least 114 coronavirus patients died in the state. The western state recorded the highest number of deaths related to COVID-19 in India at 5,651.

India on Wednesday witnessed the biggest jump in COVID-19 positive cases by registering 12,881 fresh cases in a single day. The total number of coronavirus patients in the country reached to 366,946.
