Coronavirus Outbreak: Nagaland to disinfect public transport, buses to not stop in Assam

The transport minister has issued an advisory to the buses travelling via Assam to various districts of Nagaland to not halt in Assam

Nagaland Transport minister Paiwanghas Konyak in order to combat the spread of coronavirus has directed to spray disinfectant in public transport. The public transport needs to be disinfected including state helicopters, buses and taxies and the exercise will be performed in the entire district.

The transport minister has issued an advisory to the buses travelling via Assam to various districts of Nagaland to not halt in Assam.

The advisory states, “In the wake of coronavirus causing the general public to fear and be under apprehension of COVID-19 and pandemic crisis rising in the country, the Nagaland government is deeply concerned regarding the outbursts of the virus, and hence will be taking further steps to disinfect buses and other vehicles. ”

“Nagaland’s Health and Family welfare department has been put on high alert to take precautionary measures to prevent the infection and spread of coronavirus in the state by issuing advisories, awareness campaign and setting up transitory quarantine points,” it further added.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has urged Nagaland’s urban development department on Friday to issue a 13-point advisory to urban local bodies (ULBs) on coronavirus outbreak in India for strict compliance and asked them to submit action taken report by March 18.
