India recorded its biggest single-day spike on Wednesday with 25,530 fresh Covid-19 cases, breaching the 25,000-mark for the first time. The country’s total caseload has reached 7,68,322. India’s cumulative death toll is now 21,122.
The number of patients who died due to the coronavirus increased to 20,642, with 482 new fatalities, as per the government data.
The number of recoveries stands at 4,56,830, while there are 2,64,944 active cases of the coronavirus infection currently in the country.
India now trails only the United States and Brazil in the number of COVID-19 cases.

Odisha has reported 577 new COVID-19 positive cases, which is the highest single-day spike, taking the total tally to 11,201 in the state, informed the health department on Thursday. The state also reported four more deaths related to COVID-19 pushing the death count to 52.
