Coronavirus: Tripura govt announces closure of educational institutions from March 17 to March 31

Tripura government has announced the closing of all educational institutions including schools, colleges from March 17 till March 31 as preventive measures against coronavirus spread. Tripura has not reported any positive cases of coronavirus so far.

The coronavirus issue has attracted attention from all over the country. In most of the states, the governments have declared the closing of all educational institutions till March 29 or 30 or 31.

The Tripura govt, however, has decided to keep all the schools, colleges whether government-run, government-aided or private-run throughout the state, remain close from March 17.

The closing will be extended until March 31.

“The notification regarding closing from the administration will be circulated soon,” Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told the media persons on Monday.

However, the School Education Department instructed many school authorities to provide soaps, hand wash or hand sanitizers to all the board examinees before they enter in their exam halls.

The Class 10th and 12th board examinations of the state board, CBSE, ICSE and ISC are being conducted in the state.

The notification also instructs further to students and teacher to wash their hand properly with soap and water or and use hand sanitizers before entering the examination hall” the notification states.

The department has even postponed NISHTHA training programme for the teachers to improve learning at the elementary level.
