The police continue to book people in Visakhapatnam for defying the lockdown. Many of them were found tricking the cops in order to pass through the check point amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdown.
On Wednesday, a young couple on a bike with a child on their way to area 104 from Gopalapatnam, were stopped at NAD junction. They told the police it was a health emergency and they were rushing their child to a hospital.
While one police personnel immediately allowed them to go, a suspicious constable stopped them to check the the health of the ‘child’ but to their utter surprise they found out that it was actually a doll.
As the cops asked them to give their details to book them for breaking lockdown norms, the woman said they were on their way to see an ailing aged relative. Moved by their plight, the cops warned them and let them go.
“They admitted to their fault. They thought upon the idea of using a doll as normally police do not stop someone going to hospital with a baby,” said a cop who was witness to the whole thing.
In a yet another incident from Hanumanthawaka junction on April 19. After the police stopped a couple at the check-post, who told them they were going to the hospital. They also showed them an X-ray plate and a few prescriptions. However, when cops took a closer look at the X-ray plate and prescriptions, they found that they were two years old. They, too, were warned and sent back.
