A 22 year old Colombian boy identified as Kalaca Skull voluntarily mutilated his nose, tongue and ears and entirely covered his face and arms with tattoos in order to look similar to a skull.
Kalaca, with real name Eric Ramirez, is a tattoo artist obsessed with the skill features that he wanted to look like one. The young Colombian has been undergoing extreme surgical procedures for the last two years. His gruesome procedures include having the bottom half of his nose removed and his ear lobes cut off.
He split his tongue in two and dyed it grey, then had dark eye sockets permanently inked onto his face. Kalaca Skull had skeletal teeth shaded around his mouth.
The unusual appearance has been criticised my many over the social media and his neighbours. However, defending his admiration, Kalaca said that “Body modifications are a personal decision and should not be judged. It is like judging a woman for getting breast or buttock implants. For me, a skull is like my sister, a part of my family really, I feel attached to them.”
He added that his surgeries were a ‘dream come true’ and said he plans to complete his transformation into a ‘living skull’.
