Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful teams in Indian Premier League. They have lifted the IPL title thrice, in 2010, 2011 and 2018. Returning to IPL after serving a two-year suspension in 2018, Chennai suffered a poor start but the team bounced back in a spectacular way as they won the title against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The team is captained by MS Dhoni and coached by Stephen Fleming. While most of the teams release quite a few players, defending champions Chennai Super Kings have released only three players namely Mark Wood, Kanishk Seth, and Kshitiz. Mitchell Santner, who missed the previous season due to injury, has been retained.
