Another technical glitch was experienced by Lucknow Metro on Friday evening as the train did not move from Charbagh metro station for at least 25 minutes. As the train was stuck on the platform, the passengers had a tough time waiting as the authorities made no announcement about when the train will move again. The metro was returning from Charbagh to Transportnagar.

Such an incident is not happening for the first time. Earlier on the first day of its commercial operations on 6 September, the train got stranded on the track, leaving many passengers stranded. The commuters panicked as lights and air conditioner went off. Although the train moved again, it again stopped for nearly 8 minutes at the Durgapuri station.

The Lucknow  Metro was launched on 5 September by home minister, Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

During the inaugural ceremony, Yogi Adityanath had said that the metro service will help reduce air pollution in Lucknow, in the long run, and will contribute to savings in terms of money and time for the passengers. He revealed that the government is planning to provide metro services in Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi and Meerut.
