Delhi Women’s Commission chairperson Swati Maliwal has divorced her husband Naveen Jaihind. Swati took to her official Twitter handle and wrote a passionate post about her divorce.
She wrote in a tweet, ” Most painful moment is when your fairytale ends. Mine ended. Me & Navin have got divorced. Sometimes best people can’t stay together. Will always miss him & our life that could have been. Every day I pray to God to give us & others like us the strength to deal with this pain.”

For the uninitiated, Jaihind is the AAP’s convenor for Haryana and was the face of the party in the 2019 Vidhan Sabha elections in the state. He has been associated with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal since the latter’s India Against Corruption days. Jaihind was a part of the core committee of the Anna Hazare-led movement and played a key role in drafting the Jan Lokpal bill.
Swati Maliwal was appointed the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women in 2015 under the AAP government. At the time, her appointment was criticised due to her young age and the fact that her husband was in the party.
