Dead rat found in breakfast at IIT Delhi’s hostel; probe on

In a shocking incident, students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi have found a dead rat in the morning meal served at a boys’ hostel in the campus. After the incident, a committee has been set up by the institute to look into the issue.

The incident happened on Tuesday morning when a student found a dead rat in the chutney served with the breakfast at the Aravali hostel. Soon, the student complained to the hostel officials. The issue was then brought to the notice of the dean students’ affairs.

“We received a complaint from the students of Aravali (hostel) on Tuesday. They had found a dead rat in the breakfast. We have formed a committee to look into the lapses that lead to this problem,” said TR Sreekrishnan, dean students’ affair.

Significantly, IIT Delhi has 11 boys’ hostel and three girls’ hostel.
