Just in: Mukesh Kumar, the teacher stabbed by his students, succumbs to the injury in hospital.

In a gruesome incident, a teacher in a government school was allegedly stabbed by his students in front of the entire class.  Two class XII students of a government school in West Delhi’s Nangloi area committed the crime when one of them was expelled for low attendance.

The incident took place at around 5 pm when the students were writing their exam at the Government Senior Secondary School. According to the police, the teacher was undergoing treatment at Balaji Action Hospital.

“Mukesh Kumar was stabbed thrice allegedly by the two boys in front of the entire class, after which the two boys fled,” a police officer said.
“One of the accused was expelled for low attendance. He went to the school to speak with Mr Kumar. During the conversation, the boy and his friend, who was writing the exam, reportedly lost their temper, and in a fit of rage, stabbed Kumar,” the police said, adding that “one of the accused is 18 years old while the other will turn 18 in two months.”

An ‘attempt to murder’ case has been registered at the Nangloi Police Station and the family members of the accused are being questioned to know the whereabouts of the duo, the officer said.
