On Tuesday, Feb 4, the Aam Aadmi Party released its manifesto for the February 8 assembly elections here with 28-points programme.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has promised quality education, health, clean water, and 24-hour electricity among other sops in its manifesto released today for Delhi Assembly elections.
Here are the key promises offered by the party:
- The 28-point programme of the AAP also includes pursuing the central government for the inclusion of Bhojpuri into the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
- The manifesto also guarantees doorstep delivery of ration and free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens.
- “The Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill which was passed in Delhi Vidhan Sabha in 2015, has been pending with the Central Government for the last 4 years. The AAP government will continue its struggle to get the bill passed,” said Sisodia.
- AAP promises new appointment of Safai Karamcharis in the city and Rs 1 crore compensation to families of decreased Safai Karamcharis who die while performing their duty.
- The deputy CM also said that if reelected, the AAP-led Delhi government will run a pilot project to allow markets to open 24 hours.
For the uninitiated, In the last Assembly elections, AAP formed the government in the national capital after securing a clear majority of 67 seats in the 70-member house.
While the AAP is looking to retain power in the national capital, Congress is hoping to regain its ground here whereas the BJP is seeking to make a comeback in Delhi after over two decades.
