Delhi Police has arrested former Congress councillor Ishrat Jahan of Congress for inciting violence. Ishrat Jahan has been Former Congress councillor of Jagatpuri area. According to the police, they are accused of spreading violence in Khureji.

After the violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act, the atmosphere is peaceful in most places in North East Delhi on Saturday. However, there is still a ban on the gathering of large people or the large gathering in the areas around the places where violence has taken place. So far, 41 people have died and around 200 people have been injured in the violence in North East Delhi.

According to the Home Ministry, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has removed most of the debris from public places. More than 300 people were injured in the violence.

The police have so far registered 123 FIRs and detained 630 people. Delhi Police has formed two SITs to investigate cases of violence. Since February 24, security forces have been deployed extensively in the violence-hit areas of North East Delhi.

On Friday, the police revealed the reasons behind the death of 35 people in the violence in North-East Delhi and also explained the reason for their death. Of the 35, 22 died of stone pelting or physical assault on them, while 13 died due to gunfire.

According to the police report, according to the available reports so far, 35 people died due to injuries or other reasons during the violence (till Tuesday). 13 people died due to bullet injuries while 22 people were seriously injured due to injuries and later died.
