Delhi High Court judge Sunil Gaur who retired on August 23, has been appointed as the Chairperson of PMLA Appellate Tribunal.

Gaur was elevated to the High Court in April 2008. He had been involved in handling several corruption cases, including the money laundering case against former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, meat exporter Moin Qureshi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath’s nephew Ratul Puri, and more.

Sunil Gaur has recently been in news ever since the case of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram started. Gaur had rejected Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail in INX Media case last week by saying that, case was a “classic case of money laundering” and called him the “kingpin or key conspirator” in the case.
