In an unfortunate incident, a 29-year-old man was killed inside a car outside V3S Mall in east Delhi’s Preet Vihar around 2 am on Friday. The deceased was identifies as Vishal Suri. He arrived near the mall with two friends in a white Swift car to eat parathas.
The trio parked the car on the roadside. Suri’s friends walked to a shop adjacent to buy dinner while Suri stayed back inside the vehicle, said police.
Soon, another car pulled next to the Swift and an unidentified man fired several rounds at Suri before escaping, police added.
As Suri’s friends heard the sound of the shootings, they rushed to the car and found that the victim had succumbed to his injuries. Suri had been hit thrice, as per the reports.
The killer remains on the run. But the police are interrogating Suri’s friends to nab the assailant.
“The killer and the victim have criminal backgrounds. We are probing the case and hope to crack it soon,” Omvir Singh, deputy commissioner of police (east), said.
