In a major development in the controversial murder case of 31-year-old Delhi teacher Ankit Kumar, Delhi Poice has revealed that the prime accused Akash had killed the teacher because he was unhappy with the teacher allegedly harassing his girlfriend, who studied at the coaching centre.
Taking it to the Twitter, Delhi Police revealed the mystery of the murder telling, “With the arrest of a 21 year old, final year BTech student, Aakash Kashyap, who belongs to Bagpat in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi Police Distt North West has solved the murder case of a teacher Ankit Kumar, in Jahangirpuri, on Oct 1. Aakash killed Ankit for harassing his girlfriend & pursuing her.”

In the following tweets, Police also mentioned that accused Akash hatched the murder plan after Ankit did not give his pursuit for the accused’s girlfriend. “The girl studied at Ankit Kumar’s coaching centre & Ankit had fallen in love with her two years ago. When Ankit didn’t abandon pursuit & blackmailed the girl, Aakash Kashyap, the accused, hatched the plot to get rid of him,” said Delhi Police in its tweet.

Ankit’s murder had prompted many right-wing journalists and media outlets to conclude that this was a case of inter-faith marriage and he was killed by his Muslim girlfriend’s brother.
According to the reports, Akash bought a pistol when he visited Fazalpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, the place of his maternal uncle, in March this year. The police also recovered the desi gun, mask, bag and a cap used to carry out Ankit’s murder.
