The counting for Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections began on Friday at 8:30 AM.
Sixteen candidates, including 4 women, are in the fray for the post of – President, Vice Present, Secretary and Joint Secretary.
Three major students’ bodies in the fray this year were Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), affiliated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and All India Students’ Association (AISA) which is associated with the Left.
The turnout for votes across 43-morning colleges was recorded at 39.90 per cent. Last year, the election saw a 44.46 per cent voter turnout.

The main contest in the DUSU elections is between BJP-affiliated ABVP and Congress’s students’ wing NSUI. Both students’ bodies are confident of winning all four posts in the results.
