Over 30 activists, who organized occupy RBI protest in Bangalore against the demonetisation move, were detained by Bengaluru Police on Thursday.

Activists from various organizations including CPI (ML) Liberation, AICCTU, New Socialist Alternative/ Peoples’ Solidarity Concerns, Social Democratic Party of India, Street Hawkers Association and Karnataka Tamil Makkal Aaikyam were picked up by police outside the RBI office on Nrupathunga road.

‘Occupy RBI’ organisers distributed pamphlets to people standing in the long queue for hours. The protesters alleged that police did not allow them to even raise slogans.

The protesters arrested by the Police were brought into the city’s armed police grounds, Counter Currents reports.

“ This demonetisation is nothing but a farce. In the name of black money , Modi and his henchmen in the cabinet have blocked the money of the ordinary working people. Even by the standards of Ruling Classes law this is illegal and unconstitutional. This is nothing but concentration of power paving way for a brutal dictatorial regime,” New Socialist Alternative member Jagadish G Chandra told Newsd.

The organisers said it is the responsibility of every citizen to raise the voice to defend the RBI from the modi regime’s clutches.

In a media statement, the protesters demanded government to publicly reveal the list of Indians who have offshore account in Panama, Swiss bank and other tax havens.
