Dhamdaha Rural Assembly Constituency 2025: Dhamdaha is one of the 243 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies in the state of Bihar. It is located in Purnia district.
According to the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008, Dhamdaha consists of:
Dhamdaha community development (CD) block. Several gram panchayats of Krityanand Nagar CD block: Banbhag Chunapur, Bithnouli Khemchand East & West, Ganeshpur, Gangaili, Gowasi, Kajha, Majra, Parora, Rahuwa, Sahara, Satkodariya, Gokulpur, Jagni, Pothia Rampur.
It is a general (non‐reserved) seat. The area is predominantly rural. Agriculture is the mainstay. One recurring problem is seasonal flooding, especially from rivers such as the Koshi (and its tributaries), which affects farmland, infrastructure, roads, sometimes damages houses, disrupts connectivity.
Voter demographics are quite mixed. Various caste groups are significant: Yadavs, Kushwahas, Muslims, Rajputs etc. Youth voter concerns, infrastructure deficits (roads, bridges), drainage / flood mitigation, basic services like health, education, electricity & drinking water, are often raised.

What to Watch During the 2025 Contest?
1. Leshi Singh’s Re-election Probability with Energy: It will be important whether she could preserve her reign as a rule after all (winning in 2000, Feb 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020) apart from one or two defeats.
2. Opposition’s Scheme and Candidate Choice: For the challenger(s), it will be important to take the time and select the right person who has a deep local connection, a clean image, and is capable of mobilizing caste coalitions.
3. Caste and Community Equations: The caste structure is a major factor in as many Bihar constituencies. The importance of Yadavs, Muslims, Rajputs (Leshi Singh comes from the Rajput community), Kushwahas etc, and how party alliances correspond with communities will have an impact on vote division.
4. Impact of Local Issues:First of all, since flooding is a complete seasonal problem, it will be very important politically to examine how the current office holder and the opposition plan to handle flood prevention, drainage, road connectivity, and relief in the years of floods.
5. Voter Turnout, Youth & New Voters, Electoral Rolls: Political awareness growth among youth, new voters, transient populations or people dislocated by floods may be the game changers.
