Dhurandhar 2 OTT Update: Unlike Dhurandhar (Part 1), which premiered on Netflix after its box office success and topped global streaming charts, the sequel Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will not be released on Netflix after its theatrical run.
The simple reason is that te digital streaming rights were sold to a different platform JioHotstar not Netflix.
This is confirmed by official poster details and multiple entertainment outlets showing the JioHotstar logo on the promotional material, signalling that Netflix lost out on the OTT rights for the sequel.
Dhurandhar 2 OTT Update: Why the Switch Happened?
Industry sources say the rights for Dhurandhar 2 were finalized through competitive bidding. JioHotstar acquired Part 2 through a successful bidding process which forced Netflix to settle for Part 1 because JioHotstar offered better financial terms to the producers. The sequel moved to JioHotstar for its OTT release because Netflix lost its first refusal and renewal rights to the second film.

Jio Studios maintains strong relationships with JioHotstar and now controls the entire distribution process for the sequel through its own distribution network. The system provides them control over three areas which include:
- Release timing
- Platform exclusivity
- Promotional strategy
- Longer theatrical window before digital release
JioHotstar ownership of the rights prevents Netflix from obtaining any advantages.
What Will Be The Release Pattern?
Theatrical release: Theatrical release of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge begins on 19 March 2026.
OTT release: After the typical cinematic window (around ~8 weeks), the film will debut exclusively on JioHotstar not Netflix.
TV premiere: Star Gold holds the satellite rights together with the TV rights.

What This Means for Fans?
If you watched Part 1 on Netflix: You won’t see Part 2 on the same platform.
To stream the sequel after theatres: You’ll need access to JioHotstar subscription.
This shift is business-driven, not because Part 1 did badly on Netflix. In fact, Part 1 performed extremely well on streaming.
