The current celebrations demonstrate religious devotion together with civic unity through a series of planned activities which started before the main Prakat Din celebration.
Significance of Prakat Din and Scheduled Date

Shree Gajanan Maharaj’s Prakat Din commemorates the day the saint first appeared in Shegaon, an event considered divine by millions of devotees. The 148th Prakat Din is observed with great enthusiasm and religious devotion on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

The Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan follows an organized and holy timetable of daily rituals during the Prakat Din festivities which helps devotees reach their spiritual goals.
Daily Routine at Temple (Shegaon)
- 5:00 AM: Temple gates open with auspicious musical notes.
- 5:30 – 7:30 AM: Panchamrut Pooja and morning rituals including Abhishek (sacred bathing) of Shree Maharaj’s Paduka (holy sandals).
- 11:00 AM: Panchopchar Pooja and Aarti with Mahanevedya (offering of food).
- 4:00 – 5:00 PM: Dnyaneshwari Pravachan (spiritual discourse).
- 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Haripath and traditional devotional singing.
- Sunset: Evening Panchopchar Pooja and Aarti.
- 8:00 – 10:00 PM: Kirtan (devotional songs) on festival days.
- 9:30 PM: Shej Aarti (closing prayer), followed by distribution of prasad.
Main Prakat Din Schedule

The temple grounds of Shegaon will receive their illumination from both lighting and the deep religious beliefs which guide their scheduled sacred events.
Early Morning (Before 7:00 AM): Devotees begin arriving at the temple to ensure early darshan (sight of the deity).
Morning Rituals: The day starts with traditional Maharudra Swahakar Yagya.
Throughout the Day: Continuous bhajans (devotional songs), inspirational kirtans and community prayers fill the temple precincts.
Maha Aarti & Darshan: Special Maha Aarti sessions are conducted with elaborate ceremonies, and darshan remains open from 5:00 AM until evening, with devotees participating throughout the day.

The temple provides its devotees with two main services which include temple services and devotional offerings.

The festival delivers Mahaprasad blessed food to devotees from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM without charging any fees while they share their meals together. The temple allows visitors from 5:00 AM through 9:30 PM during which Shej Aarti serves as the final prayer service for the entire day.
