Muhurat trading is the stock market trading activity which happens for about an hour on Diwali day. As you aware India has been a country where millennials believed in good omens and auspicious times to make investment decisions like purchasing gold for personal use, ornamentation, dedicating it to temples, etc. among others.

As Diwali also marks the beginning of the New Year, it is believed that muhurat trading on this day brings wealth and prosperity throughout the year.

Diwali 2021 NSE Stock Market Muhurat Trading Date: November 4, 2021 (Thursday).

Check date and timing:

On November 4, 2021, the two stock exchanges will hold their one-hour special Muhurat trading between 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm.

On the day, the block deal session will go on for 15 minutes from 5.45 pm till 6 pm and the pre-open session will last for 8 minutes between 6 pm and 6.08 pm.

Notably, Muhurat trading time is based on an astrologically defined auspicious time of the day.

What is Muhurat Trading 

Muhurat trading is a special one-hour trading session that’s allowed by the stock exchanges on the day of Diwali. A small session for bulk deals precedes the main session. All the trades executed during the Muhurat trading session result in settlement. Buying and selling shares during the Muhurat trading is considered to be auspicious by a large number of traders and stockbrokers.

The symbolic trading session marks the beginning of a new Hindu accounting year, known as Samvat. The new Samvat is expected to bring growth to the market as India is likely to witness renewed economic momentum in the aftermath of the pandemic.

The time slot of this Muhurat trading is not fixed and changes every year. Many investors buy the stocks for the long run during Muhurat Trading since they believe it as a goodwill.

Why Do Muhurat Trading?

It’s a tradition to trade during the Muhurat, as a worship towards the Hindu Goddess of wealth. Trading on this day, which is also the day when the Hindu financial year begins considered to bring a blessing for the year ahead. Further, the Gujarathi community begins their new year a day after Laxmi Puja (Muhurat Trading Day).

According to the Hindu calendar year this year, Diwali is falling on Thursday i.e. November 4, 2021, with Samvat 2078. It is believed that Muhurat trading brings prosperity and wealth throughout the year.

Muhurat trading will also be held on November 4, that is on the day on Laxmi Poojan.
