With public transport services suspended due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, several people are finding it difficult to reach their doctors. Taking of note of the situation, Uttar Pradesh administration has issued a district-wise list of doctors and their contact numbers. Natives of the state can consult these doctors over the phone.

These doctors will provide consultation to people with health issues and that too free of cost.

The announcement has been made just two days after Noida Authority launched a similar initiative for residents of the area. The authority roped in eight doctors to facilitate medical consultation to people of the city amid nationwide lockdown imposed to fight the spread of the COVID-19.

The authority has engaged professionals of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) for this purpose. These doctors can be reached at 0120-2422317 and will provide consultation between 10 am and 6 pm.

So far over 100 COVID-19 cases have been reported from Noida, which is among the hotspots in the state.

This is why the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has completely banned the movement of people between Delhi and Noida. Exceptions have been made for the frontline soldiers.

Meanwhile, Kanpur has emerged as a major hotspot in Uttar Pradesh with 33 more COVID-19 cases being reported in the past 24 hours.

The total count of coronavirus positive cases in Kanpur is now 185 and the city has 25 hotspots. The new cases include 13 women and two policemen.
