The results of the elections to Delhi University Students’ Union has been declared on Wednesday with NSUI winning three seats along with the president post. ABVP won the post of secretary in a close contest. NSUI won president, vice-president and joint secretary post while ABVP won secretary post.
The NSUI last swept the DUSU polls in 2007. Since then, there has been on a descending spiral, excepting in 2012 where it won three seats. The history has repeated itself again in 2017 with NSUI winning the three significant posts.
In 2015, the ABVP won a clean sweep and made it to three seats in 2016. Notably, 42.8% voter turnout was reported on Tuesday.
